1: Find a company that advertises the same product to different genders in distinct ways. For example, look for clothing brands, beer companies, body care products, condoms, razors, energy drinks, health products, etc.
STEP 2:
- Post the 2 different ads or links to the ads in the discussion forum, along with a 75 word paragraph explaining how and why the 2 ads play into gender stereotype with citations & module information. (3 POINTS FOR MODULE & CITATIONS)
- Pick either the structural-functionalist, conflict, or symbolic interactionist perspective to analyze how someone from that perspective would analyze that advertisement. Add in your own thoughts and explanation as to how someone from that perspective may think about gender or sexuality. This should be a minimum of 75 words, with citations & module information.
PART B
In this assignment, you will be exploring stratification, including concepts associated with it.
- Explain each of the four systems of stratification, including what type of social mobility is present. Your explanation should be a minimum of 2 sentences each, for a total of 8 sentences.
- For each of those 4 systems, connect life chances to each system. Explain in a minimum of 1 sentence each, for a total of 4 sentences.
- Provide evidence of each stratification system by giving a country/nation example.
