Format: Using numbers or bullets, please sketch out the basic idea of your paper as follows:
(1) Please give a working title for your paper (can be changed later) to help me understand the overview of your topic
(2) Background on your idea, such as the problem or issue, what evidence exists so far in the literature, and your thesis (what idea are you driving home by writing this paper?)
(3) Connect your thesis to the larger problem at hand, suggest new areas of research that need focus, propose open questions and future directions
Your ideas do not need to be fully developed. This outline is meant to help me make sure I understand your topic before I approve it for writing. Write a concise outline that conveys the message of your idea the best you can at this early stage.
I will respond with feedback, suggestions for change, and approval by Jan 10, allowing you to proceed with writing your paper. If you submit the outline early, you may hear back from me early, but there is no guarantee. If you submit the outline late, you will probably hear back from me late.
Grading: 5 points. This assignment will mainly be graded on completeness and timeliness. 2 points will be deducted for 1 day late, and 1 point deducted each day after that until zero points remain. If your idea needs work, I will respond with feedback and it will not significantly impact your grade. However, spelling, grammar, and writing coherence will factor in, as reasonable.
Your topic should fall within both gender and health, and approved by me (by submitting your outline and reading my feedback)
