This semester you’ll be writing one response to an article you find on a subject we’re studying.You’ll be using this information to further your knowledge and understanding of current issues in the field of psychology.
This response will give you a chance to research a topic that is of interest to you. You may choose to study a subject we’ve discussed in class in more depth orchoose a topic of your own to learn more about.
The article you’ll be reviewing must come from an academic journal or a reliablecontemporary source that links back to a study or journal article you can access.
Each response must be approximately two pages long (about 500 words, double-spaced) and feature the following elements:
A summary of the article (5 points): Your response should include a short summation of what the article was about. (This should be no more than a paragraph. This assignment is an analysis, nota summary!)
Your reason for choosing the article (10 points): What drew you to this article? What did you find most interesting about it? What is something you learned from it?
Relevance to the field of psychology (15 points): Why is this article important to the field of psychology? What are the implications? What populations does this information affect? What are the limitations of the research? What could the psychologicalcommunity gain from learning the information in this article? (These are only examples of what can be discussed in t his section!)
