For this assignment, students will develop skills in identifying possible career paths and how to apply for a position in a mental health and wellness career field by preparing interview techniques.
Conduct research for job requirements for a position as an administrator in a mental health and wellness agency that has an integrated health environment.
Develop a script for a 10-minute interview with a potential employer at that agency. Write the script from the point of view that you are the individual applying for an administrator position at the mental health and wellness agency. The script should include a two-way dialogue between you and the interviewer that demonstrates the following:
- An understanding of how to describe the interplay between mental health and wellness (“general wellness” including physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and other types of wellness, i.e. physical, emotional).
- An understanding of basic skills and knowledge that is required of a mental health and wellness worker (medical/behavioral health providers).
- An essential understanding of how to coordinate care with providers from different disciplines.
- An understanding of what is meant by an integrated health environment and how your skills prepare you to be an administrator for this environment.
While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
