This module covers the frameworks of religious marketplace theory and three types of new religious movements (NRMs). Use specific frameworks provided in the lecture to analyze the Aetherius Society in the US. Students should conduct online research about their assigned NRM, provide 2 references and respond: Intro to movement, where it fits in with Wallis’ spectrum of NRMs, what is the problem/issue that it addresses and what is its solution? Note that this movement is also in the UK but I’m looking for US information, if available. If not, use the UK information. I can’t decide between world-affirming or world-accepting as the Wallis fit, so whatever you decide, please have a good argument. 🙂 PS: I chatted with the Society and they contend they are both…that does not work for this post. 😉 This was assigned to another tutor who got confused.
